These may include Swedish massage, deep tissue work, myofascial release, myoskeletal alignment, muscle energy techniques, trigger point therapy, assisted stretching, and kinesiology taping.

We’re here to help you move better, feel better, and live better.

Traditional Swedish/Relaxation Massage

Massage therapy has a rich history dating back to 3000 BCE or earlier, with roots in ancient healing practices.
One of the most well-known techniques, Swedish massage, was developed in the 1830s and introduced to the United States in the 1850s. This full-body therapeutic treatment focuses on manipulating soft tissues and muscles to promote overall health and well-being.

Swedish massage is designed to create a calming, balancing effect on the nervous system by using long, sweeping, and gliding strokes that stimulate the body’s natural relaxation response.

Benefits of Swedish Massage

  • Improves circulation and lowers blood pressure – Encourages healthy blood flow throughout the body, promoting cardiovascular health.
  • Aids in the elimination of metabolic waste – Helps flush fluids from the muscles, reducing muscular pain associated with ischemia (restricted blood flow).
  • Relieves muscle tension and stiffness – Loosens tight muscles, reducing discomfort and increasing ease of movement.
  • Enhances flexibility and muscular resilience – Improves range of motion and supports overall muscle health.
  • Stimulates the parasympathetic nervous system – Promotes deep relaxation and helps the body shift into a state of rest, recovery, and healing.

Medical Massage

Medical massage therapy is a results-driven approach to addressing specific health concerns diagnosed and prescribed by a physician. Unlike general relaxation massage, medical massage targets particular areas of pain or dysfunction using specialized techniques tailored to each individual's condition.

During your initial visit, a comprehensive assessment is conducted to understand your unique needs. Based on this evaluation, a personalized treatment plan is developed to help restore function, reduce pain, and promote healing.

Medical massage isn’t defined by one single technique—it’s a therapeutic approach that draws from a range of methods, all with the goal of supporting your recovery and enhancing overall wellness.

Our therapeutic massage services are designed to help manage pain, improve mobility, and support healing for a variety of conditions, including:

  • 🔹 Joint Pain
  • 🔹 Arthritis
  • 🔹 Hypertension (High Blood Pressure)
  • 🔹 Hip & Knee Pain
  • 🔹 Neck & Low Back Pain
  • 🔹 Tendinitis & Tendinosis

Each session is tailored to your specific needs, promoting long-term relief and improved quality of life.

Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD)

Originally developed in the 1930s by Dr. Emil Vodder and his wife, Estrid Vodder, ND, Manual Lymph Drainage (MLD) is a gentle, rhythmic massage technique designed to stimulate the body’s lymphatic system.

Using light, skin-stretching movements, MLD encourages the flow of lymph fluid away from swollen or congested areas and toward healthy lymphatic pathways.

This repetitive, precise technique helps move stagnant fluid (edema), reducing swelling and promoting detoxification. MLD is highly effective for managing post-surgical swelling, scarring, chronic inflammation, and trauma-related edema. It’s also widely used to support immune health, aid in recovery, and enhance overall wellness.

Whether you're healing from a medical procedure or seeking a holistic approach to health and beauty, MLD offers powerful therapeutic and esthetic benefits.

Benefits of Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD)

Edema Reduction
MLD enhances the movement of lymphatic fluid, increasing the volume and speed at which fluids, proteins, and large molecules are cleared from tissues. It helps eliminate excess and stagnant fluid, softens hardened (colloidal) tissue, and reduces swelling.

Pain Relief
By reducing pressure from swelling and interrupting pain signals to nerve receptors, MLD provides natural pain relief and supports a more comfortable healing process.

Improved Circulation
After fluid is cleared through MLD, fresh plasma flows more easily into tissues, delivering oxygen and nutrients more efficiently. This boost in circulation accelerates cell regeneration and returns detoxified fluid to the bloodstream.

Stress Reduction
MLD activates the parasympathetic nervous system, helping the body shift from a state of stress ("fight or flight") to a state of relaxation and recovery. This promotes deep relaxation and supports overall well-being.

Therapeutic/Sports/Deep Tissue Massage

Massage Therapy for Athletes at Every Level

Whether you're a professional competitor, amateur enthusiast, or weekend warrior, if you move with purpose—you’re an athlete. Whether you train in a gym or stay active on your own, your body deserves the same care and attention as any high-performing machine.

Regular massage helps maintain muscle health, enhance performance, and speed recovery. From pre-event preparation to post-event recovery—and every moment in between—massage therapy supports your goals at any age and fitness level. Keep your body performing at its best.

Sports massage is a targeted therapy designed to support active bodies—before, after, or between workouts and physical training. This technique focuses on the belly of the muscles and their attachment points to increase range of motion, release tension, and separate muscle fibers.

By opening the muscle tissue, sports massage promotes better oxygen circulation throughout the muscle and helps flush out metabolic waste that can hinder growth and performance. The result? Enhanced endurance, faster recovery, and reduced risk of injury by properly preparing muscles for repetitive or intense activity.

Ideal for athletes of all levels, sports massage keeps your body in motion—stronger, safer, and more efficient.

Benefits of Sports Massage

  • ✅ Decreases pain and muscle tension
  • ✅ Promotes flexibility and mobility
  • ✅ Improves circulation and nutrient delivery
  • ✅ Reduces swelling and inflammation
  • ✅ Helps prevent injuries
  • ✅ Enhances exercise performance & range of motion

Cupping Therapy

Cupping Therapy
Cupping is an ancient healing technique with roots dating back to 1550 BC, documented in one of the world’s oldest medical texts—the Ebers Papyrus. Traditionally used to treat respiratory conditions like bronchitis and pneumonia, cupping has evolved into a powerful modern therapy for musculoskeletal pain and injury recovery.

Today, cupping is commonly used to relieve tension from strains, sprains, back injuries, and swelling. Silicone or plastic cups are placed upside down on the skin, and air is removed to create a vacuum. This suction gently lifts the skin and underlying tissues, promoting increased blood flow and lymphatic circulation.

In some sessions, cups may be glided across the skin to elevate and separate muscle layers, helping release fascial restrictions, improve mobility, and support healing. Cupping offers a unique and effective approach to pain relief, tissue recovery, and overall well-being.

Cupping provides a wide range of therapeutic benefits, including:

Mother-To-Be/Prenatal/Pregnancy Massage

Massage therapy during pregnancy offers much more than relaxation—it plays a vital role in supporting both physical and emotional well-being for expectant mothers.

Prenatal massage helps reduce stress and inflammation, promoting deep relaxation and mental clarity. It can ease common symptoms such as anxiety, depression, and high blood pressure, which are often heightened during pregnancy.

Physically, massage relieves musculoskeletal pain caused by the body’s changes—particularly in the back, hips, and joints.By gently loosening tight muscles and improving circulation, prenatal massage can help prepare your body for labor, potentially leading to a shorter and more comfortable birth experience. Research shows that regular prenatal massage benefits both mother and baby, creating a healthier, more balanced pregnancy.

Benefits of Prenatal/Pregnancy Massage

  • ✅ Reduced back pain
  • ✅ Reduced joint pain
  • ✅ Improved circulation
  • ✅ Reduced swelling (edema)
  • ✅ Relief from muscle tension and headaches
  • ✅ Lower stress and anxiety levels
  • ✅ Enhanced oxygenation of soft tissues and muscles
  • ✅ Improved sleep quality

Prenatal massage supports a healthier, more comfortable pregnancy—for both mother and baby.

Reiki Therapy

Reiki is a gentle, hands-on healing technique that originated in Japan and is designed to promote deep relaxation, reduce stress, and support the body’s natural healing processes. It is based on the concept that a vital "life force energy" flows through all living beings—when this energy is balanced and flowing freely, we experience greater well-being.

During a Reiki session, the practitioner uses light touch (or works just above the body) to help clear energetic blockages and restore balance. Many clients report feeling a sense of peace, calm, security, and emotional clarity during and after treatment.

Reiki is increasingly being offered in hospitals and clinical settings across the U.S. as a complementary therapy. Studies have shown it may help reduce pain, anxiety, and fatigue while enhancing overall wellness.

  • 🔹 Parkinson’s disease
  • 🔹 Rheumatoid arthritis
  • 🔹 Psychological distress, including depression and anxiety

Red Light Therapy

Red Light Therapy (RLT)
Red Light Therapy is a safe, non-invasive treatment that uses low-level red and near-infrared (NIR) light to support the body’s natural healing processes. Also known as Low-Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) or Photobiomodulation (PBM), this technology stimulates cellular activity to promote regeneration, reduce inflammation, and accelerate recovery.

Research shows that red and NIR light are powerful wavelengths that can penetrate deep into tissues, offering a wide range of therapeutic benefits. RLT is commonly used to support healing of the skin, muscles, and joints, and may also enhance circulation, reduce pain, and improve overall wellness.

Whether you're recovering from an injury, managing chronic conditions, or simply seeking to boost your health, Red Light Therapy offers a science-backed, non-invasive solution.

Red Light Therapy Backed by Science

Red Light Therapy: Backed by Science, Proven by Results
Red Light Therapy—also known as Photobiomodulation (PBM)—has gained recognition for its wide-ranging health benefits. According to a report by the National Library of Medicine (NIH), PBM demonstrates powerful anti-inflammatory effects, both locally and systemically.

“The remarkable range of medical benefits provided by PBM has led some to suggest that it may be ‘too good to be true.’ However… it is becoming clear that both local and systemic mechanisms are operating.”
– NIH, PubMed Central

PBM has been shown to:

  • Reduce edema (swelling)
  • Lower oxidative stress
  • Decrease pro-inflammatory cytokines
  • Positively impact tissues and organs beyond the treatment site

This means that light applied to one area of the body may provide healing effects throughout the system—supporting recovery, reducing pain, and enhancing overall well-being.

Works at the cellular level

How Red Light Therapy Works: Boosting Cellular Energy & Repair

Red Light Therapy (also known as Photobiomodulation or PBM) works by stimulating the mitochondria—the energy centers inside your cells.

When red and near-infrared light penetrates the skin, these wavelengths are absorbed by the mitochondria, triggering them to produce more adenosine triphosphate (ATP)—the energy your cells need to repair, regenerate, and function optimally.

Why Mitochondria Matter
Mitochondria are essential for life and health. They:

  • Convert food into cellular energy
  • Drive the production of vital molecules
  • Regulate cell lifespan (apoptosis)
  • Influence genetic expression and inherited disease
  • Play critical roles in chronic disorders and inflammation
  • Help regulate the aging process

As Dr. Michael R. Hamblin, a leading expert in photobiomodulation, notes:

“A growing body of evidence shows that red and near-infrared light therapy enhances biological function by working at the molecular, cellular, and tissue level.”

This means that Red Light Therapy doesn’t just treat symptoms—it activates the body’s own healing mechanisms from the inside out.

Licensed Massage Therapist | Master Myoskeletal Therapist | Certified Lymphedema Therapist

Dave Gassner brings a powerful blend of clinical expertise, advanced training, and deeply personal experience to his work as a Licensed Massage Therapist. His passion for massage began as a teen athlete, when he experienced firsthand the benefits of bodywork in enhancing performance and recovery. But it was a life-altering injury in adulthood that solidified his calling.

After undergoing surgery for a severe low back and knee injury, Dave spent nearly two years with limited mobility—despite following medical advice. When conventional approaches fell short, he turned back to massage therapy. The results were transformational—not only physically, but emotionally and mentally. Inspired by his own recovery, Dave committed to helping others reclaim their health and mobility through therapeutic touch.

He trained at the highly respected Connecticut Center for Massage Therapy (CCMT) in Newington, then pursued advanced certifications to better serve a wide range of clients. His credentials include:

  • Master Myoskeletal Therapist (Freedom From Pain Institute, OK)
  • Certified Medical Massage Practitioner (LMT Success Group, FL)
  • Certified Lymphedema Therapist (Klose Training & Consulting, LLC)

Dave has worked with elite athletes, including members of the US Ski & Snowboard Team, WNBA, and National Lacrosse League (NLL). He’s also passionate about supporting local high school and college athletes across Connecticut, focusing on performance maintenance, injury prevention, and post-injury recovery.

Beyond the treatment room, Dave serves as a teaching assistant at the Freedom From Pain Institute and is an active member of both the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA) and the American Medical Massage Association (AMMA).

Known for his intuitive, results-driven approach, Dave creates a private, judgment-free space where clients can focus on healing—whether they're managing pain, recovering from injury, or seeking better performance. He understands that many hesitate to seek care due to discomfort, time constraints, or past experiences. His mission is to change that.

If you're ready to stop suffering in silence, Dave is ready to help. Step into a supportive environment and take the next step toward strength, relief, and recovery.

Licensed Massage Therapist | Board Certified in Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork

With over 20 years of experience as a Licensed Massage Therapist and more than 30 years in the healthcare field, Jennifer DiDomizio brings a rare combination of clinical knowledge, intuitive skill, and compassionate care to every session.

Jennifer’s journey in healthcare began in 1991 as a Certified Nurse’s Aide, where her natural empathy, attentive listening, and healing touch quickly became her signature. Even as a child, she was drawn to helping others feel better—often offering neck and shoulder massages to family members and seeing the immediate relief it brought.

In 2001, Jennifer graduated from the Connecticut Center for Massage Therapy (CCMT) in Newington, one of the state’s premier massage schools. She is both Connecticut licensed and Board Certified in Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork (BCTMB) through the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork (NCBTMB).

Throughout her career, Jennifer has specialized in mobile massage therapy, delivering customized, one-on-one care to clients in the comfort of their own homes. Her versatility has also extended beyond the treatment room—contributing her skills in medical billing and records, and supporting her professional community through volunteer leadership.

She served for seven years on the AMTA Connecticut Chapter Sports Massage Team, providing massage at high-profile athletic events including the Hartford Marathon, Manchester Road Race, and Special Olympics. She also helped coordinate services for Lime Rock NASCAR races and served as Secretary on the AMTA CT Chapter Board of Directors from 2008–2012.

When she’s not working with clients, Jennifer enjoys duckpin bowling, a cherished family tradition for over 40 years. She is also dedicated to martial arts, having earned her black belt in Tang Soo Do in 1998 and currently exploring American Filipino Kun Tao.

Jennifer’s massage therapy practice is grounded in deep experience, guided by intuition, and always delivered with genuine care and compassion. Whether you're an athlete seeking performance recovery, someone managing chronic pain, or simply in need of restorative relaxation, Jennifer brings a truly personalized and healing presence to every session.
